PROTRUDING TEETH
Having protruding teeth is a common orthodontic case that is easily treated at Tony Weir Orthodontics.
What Are Protruding Teeth?
Protruding teeth are when the upper teeth sit too far ahead of the lower teeth. This is mainly caused by overcrowding, small lower jaw, missing lower teeth, bad bite and even extensive periods of thumb sucking as a child.
Issues With Protruding Teeth
Like most orthodontic problems, this can make your smile less attractive. It can make the teeth function poorly especially when chewing food. As the upper teeth are sitting too far ahead of the lower teeth, they can be more prone to trauma, leading to chipped or cracked teeth over time.
How To Correct Protruding Teeth
This problem is corrected by expanding the arches or by removing teeth which creates space to align the teeth. Braces are commonly used to solve this orthodontic problem, but we can also use Invisalign or Lingual Braces. Through these treatments, we can move the upper teeth to the best possible position and correct your bite as well as give you a more attractive smile.
